TRI TECH HELPS AEROSPACE SUPPLIER TAKE FLIGHT
An Aerospace Industry supplier sought new sources for its jet engine insert product line, which was struggling with on-going quality, delivery, and cost concerns. The items in question were made from a special high-temperature alloy called Inconel, and contained special features requiring multiple processes and tight tolerances. At its own cost, Tri Tech produced several sample pieces which passed quality-control inspection. Tri Tech then developed both a manufacturing process and raw-material procurement strategy that would reduce current costs and improve the customer’s profit margin. As Tri Tech began producing full orders, meeting often fluid delivery needs was critical. To that end, Tri Tech maintained an inventory so that smaller or emergency needs could be met by the next day.
Keys to Success: Ability to work with unique alloys; higher quality and reduced costs through process development and vendor relationships; fulfilled scheduled deliveries and emergency requests. |
